0800 FAQ
What is an 0800 number ?
0800 numbers are from a special class of numbers called Non Geographic Numbers these are sometimes also called Number Tanslation Service. NGN/NTS numbers allow you to automatically redirect the number the caller dials to another number (without the caller needing to know the redirected number)
How can 0800 numbers help my business ?
By allowing your customers to call you for FREE, you are showing them that you value their business as you are prepared to pay for the cost of their call
What will it cost me ?
There is one off setup charge and a monthly service charge (depending on the level of inclusive minutes)
These service charges start at just £10 (plus VAT) per month.
You can also add advanced features to your number, which are priced individually.
Do I need new telephone equipment installed ?
No. All changes are carried out at the exchange level and are completely independent of the equipment you have on your site. However if your existing equipment allows, you may wish to change your outgoing number presentation (i.e. your caller id) to your new 0800 number.
How do 0800's work ?
0800 numbers are completely transparent to your current telephone service. The service is simply implemented by mapping your chosen 0800 numbers to your current local telephone numbers. When your clients call the 0800 number they are redirected to your office without any delay in the call whatsoever.
Do we have to change our existing telephone provider ?
Absolutely not. We redirect your new 0800 number on to your existing number. Your existing telephone provider will neither know nor care that this has happened.
Will our old numbers still work ?
Yes you will still be able to use your current number. So you can gradually transition from your current number to your new 0800 numbers.
What if we move offices or change our telephone provider/number ?
If you move (or change your actual phone number for any reason), we simply re-direct your 0800 number(s) to your new number(s). Depending on your Call Plan this may incur a small admin charge though.
Can we use an 0800 number for our fax machine ?
Of course you can, although many of our clients prefer to use our Fax to Email service as a replacement to a physical fax machine
